WNP ANTI-ASYLUM SEEKERS
CAMPAIGN BEGINS IN HULL
14th June 2003

A campaign against the rising amount of 'asylum seekers' in the Humberside area began with 'great' day of activity in East Hull delivering WNP anti-asylum leaflets door to door.

A team of dedicated WNP members leafleted the Garden Village area of Hull. We managed to clear over a 1000 leaflets across the location.

The people of Hull have had over 5,000 asylum seekers dumped on them and the area we visited had a smart, renovated dwelling complex full of them.

The complex was previously occupied by some of the city's pensioners, but they were forcibly evicted after living in the then run down complex for years and forced to locate elsewhere. We noticed that many houses in the area had for sale or sold notices in their gardens.

This was the first stage of a WNP campaign on the streets of Hull and we will be returning soon to help the growing Hull WNP branch to step up their offensive.

Whilst there, we also managed to grab a few beers, one of them on the beautiful Hull Marina.

The next two months are going to be a very busy period across Britain in our bid to make contact with the public and boost even further our growing membership numbers.

Want to get active and participate in the reclaiming of our country? Then join us!

We ask a mere £5 for membership and you will receive monthly/fortnightly bulletins, regular activities, meetings, etc. and get the opportunity to meet some great lads. And our becoming an officially registered party is now imminent.

We're moving forward and gaining rapid Nationwide coverage, so don't sit on the fence any longer.

RESIDENTS' DISGUST AT ASYLUM LEAFLET

Race relations officers have condemned a leaflet claiming asylum seekers are "swamping" parts of Hull. Flyers criticising refugees have been posted through doors in the Garden Village area by a group called the White Nationalist Party, which is based in London.

Adil Khan, community and race relations officer for Humberside Police, said the material was unhelpful but did not contravene any laws.

He said: "These people are expressing a point of view which some people may find unpleasant to read.

"However, there is nothing we can do because there is nothing on the leaflet that would constitute incitement to racial hatred.

"This is not something we would welcome. In Hull we are making great strides in getting things right and building relationships with people from different cultures.

"Unfortunately, the work of these people undermines that."

One reader, who did not wish to be named, contacted the Mail after a leaflet was pushed through his door.

The Laburnum Avenue resident said: "There were some lads delivering the leaflets to all the houses.

"We have an asylum seeker centre near where we live and I've got nothing against it.

"The leaflets were saying how much they cost and that all asylum seekers are scroungers.

"I'm disgusted by it. We don't need any trouble and they aren't causing us any bother.

"I find it a bit distasteful."

Mr Khan added it was particularly disappointing that such leaflets had been posted during the city's refugee week celebrations.

He said people could learn more about different cultures during today's celebrations at Queens Gardens.

A world music gig, featuring bands such as Robert Maseko and the Congo Beat from Africa and Indian act Sanchita, was due to take place today between noon and 5.30pm.

No one from the White Nationalist Party was available for comment when contacted by the Mail.

Mr Khan said people who were concerned or upset about the leaflets could call him on (01482) 326111.
