ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL LEEDS  WNP MEETING
Saturday 8th November 2003

Another well-attended meeting took place in the Leeds area on Saturday November 8th. The room was packed to capacity with well over fifty members present. Apologies for absence were accepted from the Women’s Division Organiser and the Merchandising Officer.

National Organiser John Wood (above), chaired the meeting and told members that the party had come a long way in the past year.  He emphasised that increased membership was the immediate aim and urged existing members to give this priority attention. He said that people were now ready to listen to us, as it was patently obvious that every other party, including the BNP, had shied away from the problems of more and more asylum seekers and immigrants flooding our nation.

Paul Bamford, National Student Organiser(above) reported on a successful leafleting event at a Yorkshire university; he told the meeting that he hoped to get a lot of publicity in the local press.

Kevin Watmough, National secretary reported on the creation of a new mail-collection address that was hoped would speed up correspondence which, until now, had suffered unnecessary delays. He said he was pleased that new members are still coming in and assured the meeting that the financial situation remained healthy.

John O’Brian, National Activities Organiser said that plans had gone ahead to hold a Remembrance Day Parade in Accrington on Sunday, November 9th.  This was of special interest to our Lancashire members.
Members living further away were arranging transport to the Ceremony. He has written to the Chief Constable of Bradford and to the City Council informing them of our intention of holding a march through the city on January 17th. He also told the members that a Manchester meeting was planned for early December.

Jerry Butler, National Security Officer(above), spoke on the need to maintain an ever-vigilant watch at meetings, rallies, etc.  He called for an elite corps of members to volunteer for security duties.

Tony White spoke of the problems of nationalist comrades who were incarcerated. He read out a letter from one comrade who, at the time of the report, was in San Quentin Penitentiary. He asked members to donate money in order that simple luxuries like decent toothpaste, soap, etc., could be sent to him.  Tony and Carol were married last Saturday and everyone wished them well.

Pete Barker, from Rochdale was our guest speaker and he spoke of the stupidity of the leadership of the British National Party. He told the meeting that the party was getting more and more like the Tory Party and that many rank and file members had forgotten what nationalism was all about.  He urged the WNP to prepare for a rescue operation when the party was in danger of collapsing under its own weak democratic policies.
Before the interval, a collection was raised which yielded over £100.

The sale of merchandise in the form of magazines, badges, etc., brought in a very healthy return.

After the interval, John Wood reminded members that the party produced some of the very best magazines on the nationalist scene. He pointed out that the success relied on contributions from members. He said that poor spelling and grammar should not deter people from writing. The articles could be very easily edited into an acceptable form.

The last speaker was Eddy Morrison, editor of Folk & Faith and Imperium.  He gave an impassioned speech about the importance of increasing our membership and he suggested we set a target of one thousand members by the end of 2004.  He told of the training programme that had been created and said that it was vital that the party had a cadre of proficient speakers now that new branches were being formed.  He hoped to train sufficient speakers to provide a dynamic and enthusiastic selection. Eddy once again stressed on the need for unity, he said that all nationalists wore the same uniform; their White skin!

The meeting closed early at around 4pm, as the premises were required for a birthday party.

Members gathered at the bar for a couple of hours after the meeting for a general chat.   All in all, a very enjoyable and productive gathering.
