The first ever Speakers' Training Session was held in Leeds on Saturday 15th November. The Session was designed and run by National Organiser of the WNP, John Wood, helped by Folk and Faith Organiser, Eddy Morrison.

Seven WNP speaker candidates attended a well-planned session. Each candidate had various tasks to complete including a random one-minute speech and various tasks relating to speech delivery. Eddy Morrison then gave a talk on the tips and tricks of public speaking and John Wood illustrated his way forward to being an accomplished public speaker.

Candidates were then rated on their performance, all scoring above average. Each attendee then gave a three-minute speech on a subject of their choice. These were well delivered and then the positive and negative aspects of each candidates style and delivery were discussed.

The Training Session was the first of a series to be hosted by Folk and Faith and the afternoon was considered by all to be a great success.
