WAKEFIELD ACTIVITY
8th February 2003

Successful Day of Action in Wakefield on Saturday 8th February. About a score of activists distributed hundreds of anti-Asylum Seeker leaflets. Public response was great, not one critical remark. The action was cut short due to a very big police presence with a video surveillance and numerous cops in body armour pacing the precincts. We have since learnt that the cops were tipped off and on standby as they were purposely told by some anti-WNP person (???Not a red we think). They thought we were there to attack an Asian Peace Rally!

Wakefield Express were given interview and we may make the local papers. Our thanks go to everyone who came along, especially those who made the journey from quite a distance - social in pub afterwards was great. Old and new comrades had a good get together.

The first issue of VALKYRIE, the new bulletin of the WNP Women's Division was passed out to women comrades who came along. Well done Jackie!

Wakefield - we WILL be back!
