He escaped public exposure by a specifically appointed Masonic Paedophile Judge,Lord Cullen who was appointed to the investigation and "100 year cover up" of Thomas Hamilton’s Mass Murder spree – were BOTH members of the same “boy’s club”.

Thomas Hamilton was the name of the Mass Murderer responsible for the Dunblane Massacre. He was a Freemason.Thomas Hamilton was granted a gun licence by his Masonic "brother" Inspector McMurdo, to a amass his arsenal of weapons, even although he was well known to be of "odd character" with paedophilic tendencies.
The two Liaison Officers assigned to the murder investigation of Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman were known to the British Police hierarchy as Paedophiles at least 3 months prior to the investigation, due to Operation Ore.

According to media reports, the names of 2 former Labour Cabinet Ministers said to be `Household names` appear on the `Operation Ore ` list of subscribers to hard-core child pornography. The same FBI investigation, which led to the arrest of rock star Pete Townshend.

Some of these cases are covered in more detail in some of the articles below, but we are afraid is only the tip of the iceberg...

New Labour Cllr, Darren Pedley - CHARGED WITH DOWNLOADING CHILD PORNOGRAPHY

A former Rochdale Councillor has appeared before magistrates accused of downloading child pornography.

Thirty-nine year-old Darren Pedley, left, who was a Labour Councillor for Balderstone and Kirkholt between 2004-2007, has been charged with 12 counts of making indecent images of children. The charges relate to incidents in October 2010.

Mr Pedley, of Daventry Road, Kirkholt, appeared at Rochdale Magistrates court on Monday (19 September). He was bailed until Monday 14 November.

Laura Jeffrey, aged 30, also of Daventry Road, Kirkholt, has been charged with 12 counts of possessing and making indecent images of children. She too has been bailed until November 14.

The pair are banned from unsupervised contact with children under 16, banned from the internet and must reside at their Daventry Road address, under conditions of bail.

Labour Party Darren Pedley also saught a job around Toddlers and Children as young as 4 years old Sandbrook Primary School. Labour25 Darren Pedley took it upon himslef to be the School Governor.

Once again…. A Labour Councillor gets the job of being near little children and goes home to his computer with the intentions of downloading sickening images of children because he has been near children all day and it has aroused him sexually.

Another Tory nonce to face the courts whilst his colleagues attempt a cover-up

Ex-councillor in court over porn charges

A councillor has appeared in court charged with 22 counts of possessing indecent images - 17 of them children.

Cllr Andrew Lamont web.jpg

Andrew Lamont, who has now resigned as councillor for Norland ward in North Kensington where he was elected in 2006, appeared at West London Magistrates Court on Thursday (1).

The partially sighted 52 year-old of Swanscombe Road, Notting Hill, was dressed in a suit with dark glasses and a white stick, and spoke only to confirm his name and address at the hearing.

He faces one charge of possessing an indecent photograph of a child, 16 charges of making indecent photographs of children, three charges of possessing pornographic images of animals, and two charges of possessing pornographic images showing an act likely to cause serious injury.

District Judge Paul Clark declined jurisdiction, and Mr Lamont must return to the court for a hearing on October 13, when he will be committed to crown court.

In a statement before the hearing, Kensington and Chelsea Council said: "Andrew Lamont resigned his office as a councillor for Norland ward on August 30.

"Eleven months ago, Mr Lamont had requested unpaid leave of absence from the council which had been granted.

"A notice of vacancy has been posted by the town clerk. A by-election will be called in due course."

As a member of the council, Mr Lamont sat on the planning committee and was also made the 'disability champion' for the Exhibition Road project.

Among other roles, he was a governor of St Anne's Nursery School, and a trustee of the Migrant and Refugees Communities Forum.

Cllrs Cockell and Paget-Brown to face Standards Committee over arrested Child Porn Cllr Andrew Lamont

In an unprecedented move following the resignation of former Councillor Andrew Lamont who is facing criminal charges, the Labour Opposition Group on Kensington and Chelsea Council have asked the Borough Standards Committee to investigate complaints about the way the Council Leader Cllr Sir Merrick Cockell and his then Chief Whip, Cllr Nicholas Paget-Brown handled the matter.

Left: Cockell's colleague, ex Cllr Lamont leaving court. He faces multiple child porn charges.

Labour Leader Cllr Judith Blakeman and Deputy Leader Cllr Emma Dent Coad claim that their behaviour could have brought the Council into disrepute as they had not acted in accordance with the Council’s Constitution.
Specifically, they claim that the two councillors had:
  • Permitted Cllr Lamont to take unpaid leave of absence for 11 months without following correct procedures and in breach of the Council’s Constitution
  • Failed to tell members of the Council or the residents of Norland ward that Cllr Lamont had been absent since November 2010
  • Not ensured that residents contacting Cllr. Lamont for help were informed that he was unable to respond to them
  • Failed to encourage him to resign immediately it became apparent that he could be facing serious criminal charges
  • Allowed him to attend a committee meeting in March while on unpaid leave of absence; and
  • Appointed to him a scrutiny committee while on unpaid leave without informing the committee’s chairman that he would be unable to take up his duties.
Cllr Blakeman expressed regret that her Group had been obliged to take this course of action. She said “I have tried to resolve these matters in private with the Leader of the Council, without success. In a similar case last year two councillors were asked to resign immediately. We can only assume that Cllr. Lamont was permitted to remain on the Council because the Conservatives wished to avoid a further embarrassing by-election for as long as possible”.
<>Cllr Dent Coad said “we have asked detailed questions and have not received satisfactory answers. We believe the Council Leader and his Chief Whip did not act in compliance with the Members’ Code of Conduct nor with the Council’s Constitution and this could seriously damage the way the public perceives the Council’s activities”.

A resident has made this potent comment: The Dame has highlighted it here......

These sex cases are always very difficult to handle, especially when children are involved. Is Lamont guilty? Only a court of law can decide. But there is also a duty to voters and residents - a duty that cannot be ignored or fudged.

The private sector has a robust and pragmatic approach in these matters. As soon as the police made a formal approach to the Concil, ex Cllr Lamont should have been sent home on gardening leave (and full pay) until the courts finish with the matter. The council should have issued a statement along the lines of "Cllr Lamont has been suspended on full pay while the police investigate complaints against him. Until further notice he will play no part in the democratic process of Kensington and Chelsea"

It sems that Cllr Cockell may have been more concerned with political expediency, including a clear run for his election campaign to the LGA and creating distance between the Lamont case and the two other child porn cases (ex Cllrs Phelps and Daley) which are still fresh in the minds of voters.

Accordingly a smokescreen was created built on stories of divorce and stress.

Cllr Cockell deserves to be kicked hard, between the legs.

Ex-councillor Martin Fisher jailed for child pornography

Martin Fisher, jailed for child pornography
A former Sheriff of Canterbury has been sent to prison today after admitting indecently assaulting a vulnerable youngster and downloading child pornography.

Ex councillor Martin Fisher, 61, later told one police officer: "Some people like Picasso..I like pictures of children with no clothes on."

The paedophile pleaded guilty at Canterbury Crown Court to five charges, including two sexual assaults on an adult and 11 charges of downloading disgusting images of children - including one depicting sado-masochism on a child.

Fisher, from Queen's Road, was told by Judge Adele Williams he had a "deviant sexual interest in children" who had shown no insight about the effect on his victim.

Fisher, who ran his own insurance business in Sittingbourne, was jailed for a total of 15 months and banned him from working with children for 10 years.

The sentence was the culmination of a 15-month long investigation by the East Kent Public Protection Unit, based at Canterbury Police Station.

Investigating officer, Detective Constable Richard Allen, said: "This was a joint investigation with Kent Social Services in which Kent Police took the lead.

"We arrested Fisher in April 2010 after one of his victims reported the offences. During the course of the investigation computers, video cameras and cameras were seized from Fisher's home in Whitstable and his business address in Sittingbourne.

"We found indecent images of children and paedophilic stories that had been downloaded from the internet both on his home and business computers. Paper copies of indecent images were found in the office at his home and copies of paedophilic stories were discovered underneath his bedside cabinet.

"When Fisher was arrested and interviewed he admitted accessing and printing the images and stories but he said he didn't accept they were indecent - he felt they were artistic.

Throughout police interviews Fisher denied the sexual assaults, but changed his plea to guilty at a court hearing on June 20.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham, head of CID at East Kent, paid tribute to Fisher's victims, who, he said, had been prepared to give evidence against Fisher, should there have been a trial.

He also paid tribute to officers at the Public Protection Unit for carrying out a meticulous investigation: "Thanks to their dedication and thoroughness a damning case was built up against Fisher," he said.

"Throughout the investigation Fisher refused to accept that he was sexually interested in children, despite using search engines on his computers to look for sites specifically involving sex with children. He maintained that indecent pictures and explicit paedophilic stories were 'art'.

"He has also since claimed that he pleaded guilty to save his victims the trauma of going to court and that he was also a victim in the case.

"We wholeheartedly dispute that. Hopefully, following today's sentence, he now understands that this behaviour is not acceptable and the only victims in this case are the people he sexually assaulted.

"I also hope that the case shows other victims that Kent Police will do everything in its power to bring offenders like Fisher to justice," DCI Fotheringham said.

Alongside the 15 month sentence Fisher will stay on the sex offenders' register for 10 years. He was also given a sexual offences prevention order, banning him from working with children for 10 years.

Ex-councillor Adrian Cirket admits child pornography charges

A former Labour councillor who downloaded child pornography from the internet was shopped to police by his partner.

Adrian Cirket, 54, was arrested after the mother of three of his five children, spotted the illegal cache on his laptop computer.

But Botswana-born Titose - who sat in the public gallery at Canterbury Crown Court to see her lover sentenced, won the praise from a judge.

Recorder Stephen Bellamy QC told Cirket, from High Street, Dymchurch: "I want to pay tribute to the courage of your partner who, notwithstanding some pressure from your family not to report the matter, took the unprecedented step of drawing the contents of your computer to the attention of the police.

"At the time you may have been utterly devastated and angry, but you have now seen that she has done you, as well as the public, a great service.

"She is clearly a very special woman. I can't praise her highly enough. You should cherish that!"

Cirket, who admitted 10 charges of downloading child pornography, was given a three-year community order on the condition he undertake a specialist course to tackle his sex offending.

Forensic experts discovered more than 500 sexual images of children - some as young as five years old - on the ex-councillor's computer which he had downloaded over three years.

Prosecutor James Bilsland said that some of the images were up to level four - the second highest category.

But Cirket, who was also once a school governor, claimed that although they were downloaded he had not viewed the file containing the more depraved images.

"She is clearly a very special woman. I can't praise her highly enough...” – Recorder Stephen Bellamy
For the past two years, he has been suspended from his job as an operations technician at Dungeness Nuclear Power Station. A decision on his future will be taken soon.

He served on Shepway District Council for eight years until 2003 and then joined St Mary in the Marsh Parish Council.

Oliver Saxby, defending, said Cirket, who sat wringing his hands during the hearing, accepted that he needed help.

"He has shown genuine remorse and feels a real sense of shame."

The judge told him: "Were it not for people like you, who are willing to consume this degrading and horrendous material, those who distributed it, there would not be so much of it on the Internet."

The court heard that Cirket had suffered a "near mental breakdown" and had contemplated suicide.

"But I accept that this form of criminality was really not in your character but it was an aberration that arose out of a great deal of stress brought about by very hard work, " the judge added.

The former trade union official was placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for five years.

Ex-councillor caught with child porn stash spared jail

A FORMER councillor has walked free from court despite cops uncovering a 90,000-strong child porn stash at his home.

Former Lambeth Labour councillor, Toren Smith, pleaded guilty to possessing child porn pictures and movies at his home in Lilford Road, Camberwell. On Monday, the 42-year-old former Tulse Hill ward councillor was handed a 21-month sentence at Southwark Crown Court, which was suspended for two years.

Below: Another 'paedo nazi' convicted. These nonces must believe all the media bullshit about 'evil SS men' whipping jews in camps and raping their way across Europe in WW2 and watch crude Jew-directed porn like 'SS Love Camp" and think that's what National Socialism is about.

Of course, then the same media will make a big thing about the very few 'nazi' nonces convicted and ignore the ones in the mainstream parties, such as the Labour 25.

It was said that the evil child killers Myra Hindley and Ian Brady had in their possession pulp-fiction books about nazis and swastika armbands, etc., found when their house was raided by the police.
Walker Nazi worshipper exposed as paedophile

HATE filled Nazi nut Michael Cowen (above) strutted the streets as a tattooed hardman...

But today the Sunday Sun exposes him as nothing but a vile paedophile.

A worshipper of Hitler and the far right, the hulking 43-year-old strutted around as a henchman for extreme organisations.

His North home was a sickening shrine to the Nazis with displays of Swastikas, an SS flag and even a cannister of Zyklon B - the cyanide gas used to kill millions.

But behind this swaggering macho image hid his other horribly twisted obsession - a hateful passion for the abuse of little boys and girls.

For Cowen had a horrifying picture library of tens of thousands of indecent images of youngsters stored on his computers.

The secret stash of shame was discovered after he ordered extremist CDs by racist “Blood and Honour” rock groups.

Undercover officers intercepted them on their way to Cowen’s home in Losh Terrace, Walker in Newcastle’s East End.

The disks included bands with names like Ethnic Cleansing and Hate Crime, and featured tracks such as “Freezer Full of ****** Heads”, “Multicultural Take Over” and “Make Them Die Slowly”.

Also in the stash were CD sleeves, with pictures of human remains, beaten and battered bodies, and people who appeared to have been shot, as well as swastikas.

Accepting the delivery on December 7, 2009, Cowen asked the undercover officer about sending the packages on to Germany.

Shortly afterwards, police with a warrant searched his home and seized the CDs. They also found 11,000 MP3 tracks on his computer of similar songs, and the Nazi memorabilia.

But chillingly, they also uncovered thousands of child porn images on Cowen’s computer, hard drive, USB sticks and memory card, mainly of young boys.

The 17,058 pictures and 215 videos featured boys as young as six and included images classed as level five - the most serious level.

Investigations revealed during 2009, Cowen used filesharing software and a social network sites to contact other perverts and up and download images of children, including some he made himself.

Dubbing himself “Spaceapple” or “Derek” he offered to swap pictures and videos and discussed sinister fantasies including “snuffing out” boys - killing them in a sexual way and filming it.

He uploaded a total of 626 indecent images and seven videos.

In interviews with police, Cowen - who has a tattoo of the number 88, which represents the alphabet placing of HH for Heil Hitler - said he was a National Front member and enjoyed the music of white supremacist bands.

He described himself as a “white nation soldier” and said a friend in Germany had asked him to order the CDs, which he planned to send on.

At first he denied the child porn charges - even accusing one of his victims of downloading the images.

But he was caught out by one of the pictures, where he was visible as the photographer, reflected in a mirror.

At Newcastle Crown Court, Cowen admitted possessing racially inflammatory audio recordings and written material, 13 counts of making and four counts of possessing indecent images of children between November and December 2009, and 11 counts of distributing indecent images of children in April 2009.

Defending, Mark Saunders said Cowen was “socially isolated” and had been involved in the far right movement since he was at school.

Judge Paul Sloan QC told him: “You have a long involvement with extreme right-wing and neo Nazi groups. You have admitted acting as a henchman for a group.

“The racially inflammatory CDs and written material which were delivered to your home address are of a particularly vile and offensive nature.

“The indecent images were of young children aged six years old and up, and predominantly of boys. It is clear that some of the victims were being subjected to truly awful sexual abuse. These offences are so serious that only a custodial sentence is justified.”

Cowen was jailed for 12 months for the racist material and three years for the child porn charges, to run consecutively making a total of four years behind bars.

After the hearing Det Chief Insp Dave Anderson, said: “There is no place for such extreme views which spread hatred in our communities and we'll continue to investigate and prosecute anyone involved in such activity in an effort to bring them to justice.”

And Det Sgt Chris Wilson, added: “During the execution of a search warrant at Cowen’s house computer equipment was seized and analysed which uncovered child pornography offences. He was subsequently charged with making, possessing and distributing indecent images of children after thousands of images and videos were recovered.

“Offending of this nature is taken very seriously and I’m pleased such a dangerous man as Cowen has been jailed for his crimes.”

Revulsion in the street where the ‘white supremacist’ lived

NEIGHBOURS described Cowen as a loner who tended to keep himself to himself.

But they were shocked to discover what went on behind the closed curtains of his terraced home.

Meanwhile, relatives of the 43-year-old said they have totally disowned him because of the shame he has brought on their family.

“The police were here for about three days when they came to arrest him,” said Nicola Farrier-Carr, who lives just a few doors away from where the pervert lurked.

“At first people though it was for racism - he tried to play it down, he was being targeted. But then my sister was warned by social services to keep away from him, and we realised it was something much worse. I stopped letting my kids play anywhere out of my sight.”

The 24-year-old mum, who has a two-year-old son and four-year-old daughter, added: “We very rarely saw him - you might see him going to the shop or something but that was about it. He was quiet and kept to himself.”

Now, all that remains to hint at the sinister goings-on within Cowen’s modest end-of-terrace house is a solitary St George’s flag sticker in a window.

But the emotional impact will last much longer. Much of Cowen’s family has already disowned him.

“We are totally shocked and disgusted,” said one family member, who the Sunday Sun agreed not to name. “We had no idea what he was like, he lied to us all about it, and we all feel so angry.

“He has never apologised to anyone about what he did. Prison is the best place for him.”

Election agent remanded in custody over indecent images of children charges

A PROMINENT election agent has appeared in court charged with possessing more than 10,000 indecent images of children.

Former Rhondda Cynon Taf Labour councillor Steve Carnell, 57, of Trealaw, near Tonypandy, faces a total of 40 separate charges.

They include making and possessing indecent images of children and possessing extreme images involving animals.

The indecent images alleged to have been found in Carnell’s possession include over 2,000 at level four and around 150 at level five, the two most severe ratings.

Carnell – who acted as Rhondda MP Chris Bryant’s election agent last year and education minister Leighton Andrews’ agent in 2007 – was remanded in custody at Pontypridd Magistrates’ Court.

The charges date back to 2003.

There was no application for bail on his behalf and District Judge Jill Watkins remanded him in custody until his committal date of May 6.

She said: “I am remanding you in custody for fear of further offences.”

'Nationalist' convicted of possessing 39,400 items of child porn.
A so-called 'White Nationalist' has been convicted of possessing nearly 40,000 items of grade 5 child porn. Martyn Gilleard (right) of  Poole Court, Goole was raided by police in 2007 in a child porn swoop. Gilleard was convicted of making nail bombs as well as the child porn offences to which he pleaded gulity. He pleaded not guilty to the terrorist offences but was found guilty of charges of "engaging in conduct in preparation of terrorist acts and collecting information for terrorist purposes."

Gilleard was a member of the British People's Party, the National Front and the White Nationalist Party according to the court.

British People's Party leader Kevin Watmough told NONCEWATCH that Gilleard was indeed a member of the party but as the BPP is an organisation anyone can join by filling in an application form and sending it to the party address, with the required subscription fee enclosed, they have no way of screening applicants. Mr Watmough went on to say: "Gilleard was supported by the BPP as he was a party member and the BPP will stand by any member until they are convicted and then decide what action to take. Until the child porn charges were revealed at the start of his trial last week we had no idea he was a sexual deviant. He was immediately expelled from the party and a statement was issued on the BPP website -  www.bpp.org.uk/gilleard.html  - No mention could be made by the BPP of the full reason he was expelled as the judge ordered that no mention be published of the perversity he had admitted so the jury would not be influenced. The BPP stands for the restoration of the death penalty for all 'people' who molest children or aid and abet their molestation by possessing child pornography. These creatures should be castrated then strung up from a lamppost. Martyn Gilleard will be sentenced tomorrow. We hope he gets life!"

Gilleard jailed for 16 years
11:29 - 25-June-2008

A neo-Nazi who made nail bombs because he wanted to "save Britain from multiracial peril", has been jailed for 16 years.
Martyn Paul Gilleard, 31, of Pool Court, off Pasture Lane, Goole, was this morning sentenced at Leeds Crown Court for plotting terrorist acts.
Police searching his home for child pornography in November last year discovered four home-made nail bombs, an array of ammunition, weapons, and documents including white supremacist propaganda and instructions on how to make a bomb.
Yesterday, a jury found him guilty of engaging in preparing terrorist acts and collecting material for terrorist purposes.
Judge John Milford QC handed him an 11 year sentence for these charges and a two-year concurrent sentence for possession of firearms.
He was also sentenced to a further five years for possessing 39,000 indecent images of children.
Judge Milford said: "It is clear to me that you have a deep seated hatred of persons including black, Asians and Jews.
"You believe that the time had come to stop the talking and to engage in direct action against them."

Councillor gives reference for paedophile

  • Councillor Salim Mulla
  • A COUNCILLOR who specialises in child care is facing calls for his resignation after he gave a character reference to a paedophile.

Coun Salim Mulla spoke up for a sex offender of the same name before he was jailed for three years for sexual assault and inciting a child under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activities.

The 42-year-old defendant, of Ripon Street, Audley, Blackburn, led a secret life as a sexual predator, tricking girls as young as 12 into answering sordid questions over the telephone.

But before he was sentenced, Coun Mulla, who sits on the board of Audley and Queen's Park Children's Centre, gave a character reference to Preston Crown Court.

Blackburn with Darwen Council leader Kate Hollern was so concerned about the reference that she called an emergency meeting with her fellow Labour councillor.

Leader of the opposition, Coun Colin Rigby, said he couldn't believe how "naive and stupid" Coun Mulla had been.

And he called on him to "seriously consider his position on various authorities and boards connected with children's services" within the borough.

But the Queen's Park councillor defended his actions and said that as he had known the car salesman for 35 years and had just told the court that from his dealings with him, that he had always come across as "not a bad lad."

The court heard that there had been several previous allegations of sex-pest phone calls against the defendant, a father-of-four, also called Salim Mulla.

But today Coun Mulla said: "I knew Salim Mulla who I must stress is no relation to me for 35 years and he has lived in my street for a long time.

"I saw him almost every day and as far as I could understand he was an upstanding and respected member of the community.

To give someone who has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting children a reference is madness.
    Coun Colin Rigby

"When he approached me for a reference I agreed and could only write about my own personal knowledge of the man.

"I can only say what I personally saw and cannot get into the allegations that were against him.

"That is a matter for the police and the court.

"As a councillor I get asked for references all the time.

"I am an elected member of the council and the management board of the children's centre but I have a duty of care to the whole community as well as to children."

Coun for North Turton with Tockholes, Colin Rigby, said: "I cannot believe what he has done I think he has lost the plot.

"To give someone who has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting children a reference is madness.

"Someone who sits on the management board of a children's centre should not be giving references for a child sex offender."

Coun Maureen Bateson who oversees council children's services said: "The safety of children is paramount and as councillors, we all have a corporate parenting responsibility to every child in the borough.

"It is the children in this case who should be prioritised above all else."

Coun Hollern added: "He has explained his actions and given me a guarantee that he will be more careful about who he gives a reference to in the future."

A spokesman for the NSPCC said it would look into the matter and added: "We would hope that anyone in a power of responsibility would put the welfare of children first."

Audley and Queen's Park Children's Centre offers affordable childcare on a full or part-time basis. The child can develop and learn while being cared for in a safe environment.

Court told of stash of child porn shots

A FORMER Independent councillor had almost 900 pornographic pictures of children on his laptop, a court has heard.

Mabon Dane, 36, a former member of Haverhill Town Council, appeared at Ipswich Crown Court yesterday (Monday, 19 June) at the start of his trial for 16 charges of making indecent images of children and one of possessing indecent images of children.

He denies all charges against him.

Robert Sadd, prosecuting, said 889 images of child pornography were found on the laptop seized from Dane's flat in Withersfield Road, Haverhill, following an early morning police raid in July 2004.

While police knocked on the door, the laptop was underneath a bed with images being deleted, using a software programme called evidence eliminator.

Normally items which had been deleted from a computer could still be traced by experts, but this programme would hide all trace. A hard drive device was also found locked in a tin in the bedroom.

"Police went to the flat where the defendant lived alone. The defendant was in but did not answer the door despite the police knocking for some minutes.

In due course they forced entry and found a laptop computer which contained child pornography. Some images were deleted while the police were knocking fruitlessly on the door, no doubt in the hope that the defendant would hide his tracks," Mr Sadd said.

Detective Constable Adrian Cassidy, the Online Investigation Team officer in charge of the raid, said when told of the allegations Dane replied:

    "Load of crap".

DC Cassidy analysed the computer and found no viruses, malicious softwear or 'spywear', but did find the evidence eliminator programme had been activated that morning to destroy traces of items.

Matthew McNiff, for Dane, said evidence eliminator was a lawful programme and equivalent to a shredder for computers.

"You were aware he was a town councillor, a highly disliked town councillor who had made complaints to the police about the activities of certain other councillors.

"You are aware that Mabon Dane caused the Local Government Ombudsman to investigate Town Council finances.

"A number of people with great power and responsibility would like to see Mabon Dane destroyed," Mr McNiff said.

    GUILTY

Former councillor Mabon Dane is facing jail after being convicted of possessing child pornography.

At the end of his three-day trial at Ipswich Crown Court, a jury unanimously found Dane, 36, guilty of 16 images of children and one of possessing indecent images of children.

The former Haverhill town councillor was immediately placed on the Sex Offenders Register.

Judge David Goodin told Dane: "These charges are serious ones. I have not made up my mind what sentence you should receive.

"I noticed that the final one of the newsgroups you subscribed to was titled 'Children Hardcore'.

"That and other factors, not least your not guilty pleas, are of concern to me in the context of sentence.

"I seems to me I need to know a great deal more about you before I proceed to sentence. All options, including custody, remain open."

Previously the court had heard that a laptop computer containing 855 indecent images of children was found at Danes's flat in Withersfield Road, Haverhill, after police made an early morning raid in July 2004.

While police were knocking on the door the computer was under the bed deleting indecent images.

An evidence eliminator programme was being used which made it impossible to trace the source of the images.

Dane claimed he had no knowledge of the images and someone had set him up to discredit him.

He said he had many enemies because of clashes he had been involved in on Haverhill Town Council and claimed town clerk Gordon Mussett "hated him".

After the verdict, prosecutor Robert Sadd revealed to the jury that Dane had been disqualified from being a councillor for three years after a Standards Board hearing ruled that he had brought his office into disrepute and carried out a campaign of destructive criticism against fellow councillors.

Mr Sadd said: "Those he has accused can hold their heads high."

After the verdict, Mr Mussett said any reasonable person would find the offences Dane was convicted of "abhorrent".

Speaking outside the court he said: "The fact that he committed these offences while a councillor, makes it doubly so. He has previously been banned by the Standards Board for three years from serving as a councillor because of his behaviour and this verdict not only confirms that decision but reveals a lot more about him as an individual.

"He had made attacks on two individuals during the course of his defence and the verdict demonstrates that like so much of his defence the allegations were false."

Jusde Goodin adjourned the case for sentence for three weeks so pre-sentence reports could be prepared, with all options open, including imprisonment.

Dane issued a statement after the verdict, saying: "Today I suffered a 'dolorous blow' in Ipswich Crown Court, and I face difficult time ahead.

"Despite the verdict, I stress that I maintain my innocence and hope to one day clear my name.

    Kid porn councillor quits

A TORY councillor and school governor has quit both posts in shame after admitting downloading internet child porn.

David Smith, 39, denied ten specimen charges of making indecent photographs of children when arrested.

But this week he admitted the offences and accepted a formal police caution just days before he was due to appear before magistrates.

His name was given to cops after the FBI found his credit card was used to subscribe to a US child porn website.

Smith, of Felixstowe, Suffolk, accepted he had downloaded the pictures — but insisted it was not deliberate.

He has now resigned from Suffolk Coastal Council and Felixstowe Town Council and as governor of Langer Primary School, Felixstowe. He said: “I made a very serious and genuine mistake.”

But he added: “The images were at the very lowest end of the scale of seriousness.”

Child porn councillor pondering calls to quit

A DISGRACED politician is considering his future as a councillor after being convicted of child pornography-related offences.

But his troubles are mounting as a former employee takes him to tribunal in Southampton for unfair dismissal.

Mike Oram, 61, of Iwerne Minster, admitted making an indecent photograph of a child and inciting the distribution of pseudo-photographs of children before Bournemouth magistrates.

His crimes came to light as a result of FBI investigations into the child porn website Landslide.

He resigned from the cabinet of North Dorset District Council but retains his position as councillor both there and on Blandford Town Council.

Cllr Oram told the Daily Echo he had not yet decided what to do.

"At the moment I'm pondering and seeking guidance and clearly I have got a lot of balls in the air and that must be a consideration," he said.

"I have got a lot of other things on my mind at the moment."

Cllr Oram, who chairs controversial IT charity North Dorset Volunteer and Community Action, confirmed that he would attend the employment tribunal next week.

NDDC leader Cllr David Whitehead said he was "very shocked" at the news of his colleague's conviction.

"He was a most valuable member of cabinet and responsible for a number of good reports," Col Whitehead said.

"He is digesting the situation and I will be discussing it with him over the next few days. "

    TORY ADMITS CHILD PORN CHARGE

A TOP Tory councillor has been urged to quit after appearing in court on child pornography related charges.

Mike Oram, 61, of Hobgoblin, Iwerne Minster, admitted two offences when he appeared at Bournemouth Magistrates Court on April 7.

Although he quit his cabinet post on North Dorset District Council the previous evening, he has not stepped down as a councillor.

Oram, who has represented Blandford East since 1999, admitted one charge of making an indecent photograph of a child and another of inciting the distribution of pseudo-photographs of children under the age of 16.

The court heard he paid to view the American `Landslide' child porn website by using his son's credit card.

The website was later investigated by the FBI in the United States and by British police under Operation Ore, after the names of 7,000 people who had accessed it - including Who guitarist Pete Townshend, were passed to the British authorities.

Liberal Democrat group leader on the council, Cllr David Milsted said Oram's position was untenable.

"I trust that he will do the appropriate thing by resigning his membership of the council," he said.

Paul Griffin, prosecuting at Bournemouth Magistrates Court said Oram claimed he had accidentally stumbled across the website and saved an image onto a floppy disk between October and November 1998.

"He said he was concerned for the children involved which is why he viewed them," said Mr Griffin.

"He admits copying an image onto a disk but said he realised it was a stupid thing to do and deleted it straight away."

The image concerned in the case was level two in seriousness - level four is the worst. When police checked his computer, no images were found saved onto the hard drive but the web history showed the website address.

David Lester, defending, said: "He says he was revolted by the images he saw but now accepts he was very naïve to go onto this site," said Mr Lester.

District Judge Louise Balmain gave Oram credit for his guilty pleas and the absence of downloaded material on his computer.

Oram was given a two-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £87 costs.

By receiving a conditional discharge he will not be placed on the sex offenders register.

Oram fell foul of Standards Board rules governing the conduct of councillors in December. A complaint was made that a drink drive conviction in June 2002 and comments he made to the Daily Echo had brought the council into disrepute. The complaint was upheld by the Standards Committee after a hearing and he was censured.

    Operation Ore

AFTER the case the Crown Prosecution Service said Oram's convictions were the result of Operation Ore investigations taking place around the country.

"There have been a number of successful prosecutions in Dorset resulting from close work between the police and Bryan Drew, the crown prosecution specialist lawyer in internet pornography crime," said a CPS spokesperson.

"The concern for all in the prosecution team is the welfare of the children who are photographed for the satisfaction of individuals buying or exchanging pornographic material on the internet."

    Child porn download councillor banned

A councillor found guilty of downloading and storing indecent images of children on his council computer has been disqualified from standing for office for five years.

The local authority standards watchdog, the Standards Board for England, found Christopher Pilkington guilty of breaching the councillors' code of conduct and bringing the authority into disrepute.

The Conservative councillor resigned from Stratford on Avon district council in August 2002 after a council technician discovered the illegal material while fixing Mr Pilkington's computer.

Town hall bosses reported the matter to the police and the councillor received a police caution for possessing indecent images of children under 16 years. He was also placed on the sex offenders register for five years.

Sir Anthony Holland, chairman of the standards board, welcomed the verdict.

"There are approaching 100,000 people who give their time to serve as members of local authorities," he said. "It is their reputation that is damaged by this sort of unacceptable behaviour."

Councillor downloaded child porn claim police

THE election agent of SNP deputy leader Roseanna Cunningham kept sickening images of young boys being sexually abused on computer, a court heard yesterday.

Councillor Iain Hunter downloaded more than 1000 hardcore gay and child porn photos, it was claimed.

Some were found on his home computer and others on the official SNP computer at his council office, Perth Sheriff Court was told.

Hunter, 43, denies storing or making the indecent photographs and also a charge of possessing cannabis.

A close friend and ally of Cunningham, the Nationalist environment spokeswoman, he was in the SNP Group on Perth and Kinross Council.

    Ex-councillor in child porn trial

A former district councillor downloaded more than 600 indecent images of children from websites with names such as "child rape" and "spanking schoolgirls", a court heard.

Former South Oxfordshire district councillor for Watlington Tim Horton is accused of using a council laptop and telephone line to access child pornography via the Internet.

At the first day of his trial yesterday at Oxford Crown Court, a jury was told how council chief executive David Buckle became suspicious after discovering Horton had run up a £500 telephone bill using the laptop.

Horton, 57, of The Goggs, Watlington, denies 36 charges of making indecent photographs of children.

Rachel Drake, prosecuting, said forensic computer consultants found at least 619 pictures on Horton's laptop and home computer showing children having sex with adults or performing sexual acts.

Horton at first answered "no comment" during police interview. He later told police he looked for adult pornography, but not for sites involving children.

Miss Drake said: "Many of the websites were indicative of child pornography, such as 'child rape'." Many included the word 'Lolita', referring to the novel Lolita about a man having a sexual relationship with a 12-year-old girl.

Horton was given the council laptop at the end of May 2001 to use from home. In March 2002, he was asked to give the laptop back temporarily because the council was changing its Internet provider. He had not returned it by June and Mr Buckle contacted him to say it was urgently needed.

Miss Drake said Horton dropped it off the following day. Some of the indecent images were discovered when Mr Buckle asked the council's computing department to look at the laptop.

Miss Drake said while there was no attempt by Horton to store the images, back-up files showed evidence that he had deliberately clicked on thumbnail images to view enlarged versions of indecent material.

Tyrone Belger, defending, said there was reference to only one large picture in a report by police forensic computer consultant Terry Williams.

Horton, a Liberal Democrat, resigned from the district council and Watlington Parish Council in 2002.

GLA man arrested over child porn

The man who runs the Tory offices at City Hall has been arrested after allegedly accessing paedophile images on the internet.

Douglas Campbell, who also manages the Conservatives' Greater London Authority website, is the second civil servant at the GLA to be questioned by officers from the anti-child pornography investigation Operation Ore, the Evening Standard can reveal.

In a revelation that will be highly damaging to the Tories, he was arrested in October but Party bosses decided to keep the matter secret until they were approached by the Standard.

The case follows that of Yusef Azad, 39, who was arrested in December amid claims that he had downloaded illegal images onto his personal computer.

Mr Azad, from Brixton, has since resigned from his £60,000-plus-a-year post assisting London Assembly members to scrutinise Mayor Ken Livingstone's policies.

Mr Campbell, who was also a key Conservative election campaigner in his home borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, was suspended two weeks after police informed the GLA of his arrest and escorted from City Hall.

He was rebailed on 31 January and has not been charged. He remains on full pay pending the outcome of the police investigation.

But a bitter row has broken out in the Tory group on the GLA about the handling of the affair. Criticism has been directed at group leader Eric Ollerenshaw, who is believed to have known Mr Campbell for up to 20 years. Critics believe he should have sought to "lance the boil" and secured Mr Campbell's resignation months ago to minimise damage to the party.

Now it has emerged just days before Steve Norris is likely to be unveiled as their Mayoral candidate this Sunday.

Mr Ollerenshaw refused to comment. A party spokeswoman said: "A GLA officer has been suspended. No further decision will be taken until a police investigation is concluded."

Mr Livingstone is said to be furious that he was kept in the dark about the allegations. His spokeswoman said: "The Mayor was not informed of this matter and is appalled that this information was not raised with him by the Assembly."

Mr Campbell, who is in his midthirties, is employed as the Conservative group's members liaison officer, earning about £35,000 a year. He oversaw the party office at City Hall and managed the researchers and secretaries who work for the nine Tory Assembly members.

He is believed to have fallen under the Operation Ore spotlight after his credit card details were passed to UK police after being uncovered by US authorities.

Alleged Pedophiles at Helm of Britain's War Machine, Massive Cover-Up

A child-sex scandal that threatened to destroy Tony Blair's government last week has been mysteriously squashed and wiped off the front pages of British newspapers. Operation Ore, the United Kingdom's most thorough and comprehensive police investigation of crimes against children, seems to have uncovered more than is politically acceptable at the highest reaches of the British elite.

In the 19th of January edition of The Sunday Herald, Neil Mackay sensationally reported that senior members of Tony Blair's government were being investigated for paedophilia and the "enjoyment" of child-sex pornography:

"The Sunday Herald has also had confirmed by a very senior source in British intelligence that at least one high-profile former Labour Cabinet minister is among Operation Ore suspects. The Sunday Herald has been given the politician's name but, for legal reasons, can not identify the person.

There are still unconfirmed rumours that another senior Labour politician is among the suspects. The intelligence officer said that a 'rolling' Cabinet committee had been set up to work out how to deal with the potentially ruinous fall-out for both Tony Blair and the government if
    arrests occur."

The allegations are the most serious yet levelled at an administration that prides itself on the inclusion in its ranks of a high quota of
controversial and flamboyant homosexual men, and whose First Lady, Cherie Blair, has come under the spotlight for her indulgence in pagan rituals that resemble Freemasonic rites. Unconfirmed information also suggests that the term "former Labour Cabinet minister" is misleading and that the investigation has identified a surprisingly large number of alleged paedophiles at the highest level of British government, including one very senior cabinet minister (known to Propaganda Matrix.com).

The Blair government has responded by imposing a comprehensive blackout on the story, effectively removing it from the domain of public
discussion. Attempts on the part of this journalist to establish why the British media has not followed up on the revelations have met with a wall of silence. Editors and journalists of The Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Independent, The Sunday Times, The Observer, The Sunday Telegraph, The Daily Mail, The Daily Express, The Mirror, The Sun, the BBC, Independent Television News and even The Sunday Herald have refused to discuss the matter.

Speaking from London, freelance journalist Bob Kearley told me: "Whether or not a D-Notice has been issued is not clear. But based on some of the feedback I've been getting it's apparent that editors and media owners have voluntarily agreed not to cover the story at this time. Operation Ore is still being reported, but not in regard to government ministers, and it's taking up very few column inches on the third or fourth page. Don't forget that the intelligence services are involved here, and Blair is anxious to ensure that the scandal does not rock the boat at a time when the country is about to go to war."

"You can imagine the effect this would have on the morale of troops who are about to commit in Iraq. In fact morale is reportedly quite low
anyway, with service personnel throwing their vaccines into the sea en route to the battlefront and knowing how unpopular the war is with the British people. And a lot of squaddies I've met think there's something weird going on between Bush and Blair. If you're then told that the
executive responsible for the conduct of the war is staffed by child-molesters ... well, then Saddam suddenly looks like the sort of bloke with
whom you can share a few tins [beer]."

[In an E mail to Paul Joseph Watson, Mike James identified his sources as "people I knew in London who used to work for the Treasury department throughout the 1980s, one being a private secretary at a senior level....my sources will definitely refuse to support my claims - both are doing extremely well financially and career-wise."]

    Developing.....

The Liberals have had a reputation for perversity since their leader in the early '70s was uncovered as a homo'. Maybe it's party policy to be anti-child as their major leading-light David Steel brought in the 1967 Abortion Act.

Here's a couple of their councillors who are on kiddy porn charges, there's a Tory nonce at the bottom to show we don't have a political bias, we just hate nonces:

Lib Dems - a party of perverts!

A TOP Lib Dem councillor facing child porn charges has quit as local party leader.

Bill Chadwick (left), 48, was remanded in custody, after being charged with a string of offences.
He is accused of making an indecent photograph of a child. incitement to rape. incitement to murder, incitement to kidnap and incitement to torture.
All the charges relate to Internet activity.
Mr Chadwick, Lib Dem leader on Preston Council, Lancs, was arrested last Friday after cops seized his home computer.

    Denies

He appeared before local lPs on Monday. He will face Preston Crown Court on August 20. Yesterday it emerged Mr Chadwick had resigned as leader. Solicitor David Room said: "Mr Chadwick emphatically denies any wrongdoing. He believes he has fallen into a trap."
Mr Chadwick lives in Preston with Councillor Alan Valentine. (Another two Lib-Dem Faggots! - Ed.)

    Update:

A councillor in Preston at the centre of child porn allegations has resigned as his party's local leader. Bill Chadwick is on remand in Preston prison after being arrested at his home at Avenham Road in the city on 9 August.

Computer equipment was seized and he was charged with making indecent pictures of children.

He was further charged with inciting another man to commit the kipnap, rape, torture and murder of a schoolgirl.

The 48-year-old appeared before magistrates on 12 August where he denied all the charges.

Mr Chadwick announced his decision to quit as leader of the Liberal Democrats on Preston City Council in a phone call to a colleague.

His solicitor, David Room, says Mr Chadwick is stepping down only temporarily as he believes he will be cleared of all charges.

He will appear at Preston Crown Court on 20 August.

Stockport Lib-Dem Councillor attempts to rape boy

Following the news that a councillor in Preston was facing child sex charges it comes as a blow to the Liberal Democrats to discover that another of their councillors has been charged with sex offences involving an underage youth.

Neil Derbyshire was arrested in March after a teenage boy informed Police about an indecent assault. Derbyshire had approached the boy in woodland near Offerton and assaulted him after a short conversation. He then suggested to the boy that he would like to carry out a sex act on him and offered a payment of £30. The boy agreed to meet him at the same place the following day but the lad told his mother who informed the police. The following day police waited for Derbyshire and arrested him when he arrived with a plastic bag containing lubricant, a condom, underpants and polyurethane gloves.

At his recent trial Derbyshire, 50, of Manor Road, Marple, near Stockport was ordered by a judge at Manchester Crown Court to undergo treatment after he pleaded guilty to indecent assault and attempting to procure an act of gross indecency. The father-of-two escaped a prison sentence but was made the subject of a three-year rehabilitation order and placed on the sex offenders register for five years.

Stockport Council Leader Mark Hunter has called for him to "resign immediately", but defiant Derbyshire said after a Council Hearing on Friday 23rd, that he intended to continue as an independent councillor for the Manor ward until his electoral period ends in May 2004.

He said: "I understand that some are calling for my resignation from Stockport Council but the community sentence imposed on me makes no requirement of this kind. My wish is to continue to represent people in the Manor Ward to the best of my ability.

According to an Online Poll being run by the Stockport Express, not surprisingly the overwhelming majority in Stockport want this pervert to resign.

Asked the question "Should Councillor Neil Derbyshire resign his council seat?" 75% said "Yes and 25% said "No".

Tory Councillor quits after child-porn found on his computer

A TORY councillor has quit after child-porn was found on his computer.
Bachelor Christopher Pilkington, 38, had sent his council-owned PC for repair. Obscene images of kids were found on it. He quit Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Warks, after being cautioned and placed on the Sex Offenders Register.
Church warden Pilkington said: "I didn't know they were on the computer. I get a lot of emails."

Commons clerk on child porn charges

    Police seized computer equipment

A senior office clerk at the House of Commons has been charged with 10 counts of making indecent images of children, Scotland Yard has confirmed. A spokeswoman said Philip Lyon had been bailed to appear before Bow Street Magistrates Court in London on 10 September.

The charges carry a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment.

Police raided the Commons and seized computer equipment as part of an investigation into an internet child pornography ring, according to The Sun.

    Search warrant

The newspaper said detectives were granted a warrant to search Mr Lyon's Westminster office, following a raid on his home in Basildon, Essex, five days earlier.

They would have had to seek permission from the Commons authorities before entering as they have no formal jurisdiction there, it added.

The 37-year-old's main duties include arranging Wednesday afternoons' Prime Minister's Question Time for Tony Blair.

He reportedly has daily contact with senior backbench MPs.

    Councillor's career in ruins

The political career of disgraced Tory councillor Peter Stidworthy (above) is in tatters after he yesterday admitted a string of child sex charges.

Coventry City Council and his own party are now making moves to end their respective relationships with the 47-year-old after the full details of his crimes came to light at the city’s magistrates’ court.

Stidworthy, a bus driver for Travel West Midlands and ward member for Whoberley, admitted indecent assault on a 15-year-old boy, 21 charges of making indecent images of children and one of possessing indecent images.

A police search of Stidworthy’s house in Lyndale Road, Whoberley, found videos and photographs of children - some as young as 12 - involved in sexual acts with adults.

Chris Hinde, director of legal services at the council, said that technically, Stidworthy would remain a member of the authority until he was sentenced next month.

He said: “Clearly, if he receives a sentence of three months or more, he will automatically cease to be a member of the city council. There will then be a vacancy advertised and we will have a by-election.”

Stidworthy, in mitigation, was said to have believed the 15-year-old boy he picked up was 16, and that what followed were “consenting acts”.

Chris Cliffe, deputy chairman of the Conservative Constituency Association for Coventry North-west, said the group was shocked at Stidworthy’s admissions.

He said: “The official line is he’s still suspended. Within the next two to three days we will be holding a meeting of the executive committee, where a decision will be made on what action will be taken. That announcement will then be made public.”

He added: “I am deeply saddened these things go on.”

Stidworthy will be sentenced at Coventry Crown Court on November 15.

Councillor is quizzed over Internet porn

A COUNCILLOR was among eight men arrested last week in connection with a police crackdown on child pornography on the Internet, it emerged yesterday.

Coun John Pilkington, 60, a Liberal Democrat who sits on Craven Council and Bentham Town Council, was questioned and released on bail.

Computer equipment was seized from his home at Bentham, which lies on the North Yorkshire-Lancashire border.

The eight arrests were made as part of Operation Ore, a nationwide probe aimed at tracking down users of pay-per-view child pornography websites in the United States.

All eight were bailed and will be spoken to again by police early next year.

Last night Coun Pilkington confirmed to the Yorkshire Post he had been arrested and bailed, but declined to comment further.

    School governor in porn probe

A FORMER Newham councillor has been questioned by detectives in connection with an investigation into child pornography and the Internet.
Greg Vincent, 33, until May a lead member in the Cabinet of then council leader but now Mayor Sir Robin Wales, was arrested on November 22 by police from New Scotland Yard’s Clubs and Vice Obscene Publications and Internet Squad.
The former election agent for West Ham MP Tony Banks, was taken to Charing Cross police station where he was interviewed on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children.
Mr Vincent, a governor of Shaftesbury School in Forest Gate – was later released on police bail until April 21.
Town Hall officials said on Monday that he had resigned as a local education authority governor while the police investigation continues. “He has no connection with any school now. Should police ask for help we will of course oblige,” said a Newham Council spokesman.
    Computer
It is believed the probe centres around a computer at Mr Vincent’s place of work – the University of London – where he is an internal auditor. Police are also believed to have searched and confiscated a laptop from his home in Plaistow.
A police spokesperson said: “We can confirm a 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children.
“He was arrested at his place of work in Central London and computer equipment was seized. He has been bailed to return in April.”
Mr Vincent was elected to serve Bemersyde Ward from May 1998 to May this year. In May last year he was appointed as a deputy to the leader, Cllr Wales, with responsibility for Community Forums.
He was also a member of the Newham Community and Police Forum, a member of the Young People’s Panel and Anti-Social Behaviour Policy and served on the Leisure Services, Environment and Investment committees.
At the West Ham Constituency Labour Party meeting last Wednesday Mr Vincent’s name in connection with the investigation was made public.

PM AIDE ON CHILD PORN CHARGES

A top aide to MPs, who arranges the weekly Prime Minister's question time, has been ordered to stand trial on a string of internet child porn charges.
Senior clerk Phillip Lyon, 37, of Basildon, Essex, faces 12 counts of making indecent images of children. He entered not guilty pleas at London's Southwark Crown Court. His five-day trial starts on March 24 next year.

Norton's deputy mayor on sex charge

THE deputy mayor of Norton was due to appear before Scarborough Magistrates' Court today charged with indecently assaulting a woman.

Jim Kench (above) is the fourth man to be arrested in a police inquiry into a large number of alleged sex crimes in the Scarborough area.

Kench, 78, of Sutton Street, Norton, was questioned by police as part of the inquiry which has already led to former county councillor Raymond Coates, 76, being charged with a number of offences which include raping an under-age girl.

Coates' son, Phillip Coates, 46, has also been charged with a number of sexual offences.

Raymond Coates' brother Victor Howland, 57, of Shaw Close, Huby, near York, appeared in court last Friday charged with indecently assaulting a woman.

Raymond Coates' other son Eric is also being sought by police for questioning. He is thought to be abroad.

    Former councillor's indecent assaults

A former Tory councillor and National Front activist has been found guilty of indecently assaulting two young girls at his Bradford home.

But, after almost ten hours of deliberations, the jury at Bradford Crown Court cleared 69-year-old Jim Merrick of 21 other allegations of indecent assault and one of gross indecency.

At the close of a trial yesterday, lasting almost three weeks, Judge Stephen Gullick lifted a reporting ban on the case and granted Merrick bail until his sentencing in February.

He told Merrick, formerly of Reevy Avenue, Buttershaw, Bradford, that he would have to register as a sex offender with the police within three days.

The prosecution had alleged that Merrick, who was the Conservative councillor for Little Horton between 1968 and 1970, had sexually abused 13 girls over a five-year period between March 1996 and February this year.

Opening the case, prosecutor Richard Newbury alleged that he had enticed girls to stay overnight at his house with presents and treats.

Merrick was also said to have got girls to shower in front of him before he "inspected" them.

Giving evidence during his trial, Merrick admitted that about half the girls who came to his house had showered there.

He said the girls broke a clip on the shower head and he would have to hold it for them and put shampoo on top of their heads.

His barrister Sophie Drake asked Merrick: "Did you ever tell any of the girls to get into the shower?"

"I didn't need to tell them to get into the shower. It was voluntary,'' he replied.

Merrick said he did not think they saw him as a "peeping Tom" and probably treated him as if he was "half deaf, half senile".

He denied buying alcohol for the girls, but admitted that he allowed them to drink beer. He said he took girls on trips to Bridlington and Scarborough and also took them to a working men's club near his home.

Miss Drake asked: "Some of the girls said you bought them short skirts to wear at the club?"

"That's an absolute lie,'' said Merrick.

The jury found him guilty of indecently assaulting two girls.

Merrick - now living in Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria - was expelled from the Tory party in the early 1970s after becoming the founding chairman of the British Campaign to Stop Immigration. He later became a member of the National Front.

    Suspended sentence for former councillor

A former Bradford Tory councillor and National Front activist today received a suspended jail sentence for indecently assaulting two young girls.

A judge heard how 70-year-old Jim Merrick had habitually invited youngsters - as young as eight - to his home for weekends and then assaulted the two victims in his shower.

During a three-week trial, Merrick, now of Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria, had denied 23 charges of indecent assault and one of gross indecency with a child.

He was cleared of all but two specimen charges of indecent assault and appeared at Bradford Crown Court today for sentencing.

Richard Newbury, prosecuting, said: "The allegations were that he habitually invited and collected young girls to stay with him at weekends and those girls would receive various treats."

He added that `part of the night-time routine' would see him invite the girls into the shower where his two victims were assaulted.

One of the attacked youngsters was between nine and 12 when the offences occurred.

Sophie Drake, for Merrick, said: "He continues to deny the offences.

"He accepts that he showered them until they were old enough to shower themselves, but denies indecent intent."

She said: "Although he has political views that some people might not agree with, he is a man of previous good character."

Merrick's sandblasting business had lost £26,000 through the course of the trial and he had spent 25 days in custody on remand, she added.

Judge Stephen Gullick said that although he sentenced Merrick for sample charges - which represented offences happening a number of times - he was limited to sentencing him as if they had occurred on one single occasion.

The Judge said that some of the girls had taken money from him and even tried to blackmail Merrick.

He told Merrick: "Nevertheless you continued to allow the girls to come to your house and at the very least some of the behaviour you indulged in or permitted was unwise."

He ordered that a separate inquiry take place into Merrick's income and assets and added: "You should pay a substantial amount towards your own costs and that of the prosecution."

The prosecution alone is though to have cost more than £30,000.

He sentenced Merrick to nine months in prison suspended for two years.

He also placed him on the sexual offenders' register for ten years.

Judge Gullick paid tribute to investigating officer PC Paul Stainburn for his works and added: "The thanks of the public are due to him."

Child sex man landed with £9,000 bill

A former Tory councillor who was given a suspended prison sentence for sex offences involving young girls has been ordered pay a total of £9,000 in costs.

Jim Merrick, 69, did not attend Bradford Crown Court for the hearing yesterday when Judge Stephen Gullick ordered him to pay £5,000 towards the costs of his own defence and a further £4,000 towards the prosecution's costs.

Merrick had gone on trial accused of 25 sex allegations involving 12 girls, but was cleared on all but two.

The court heard yesterday that he had £31,000 in a bank account, but his barrister Sophie Drake said a large part of that money was earmarked for necessary repair work to a mill property he owned.

She pointed out that Merrick's business was continuing to lose money due to the fact that he was still living out of the area because of fear of reprisals.

Miss Drake also argued that Merrick had already lost a considerable sum of money by having to live away from Bradford as a condition of his bail prior to the trial.

Judge Gullick said he had to take account of the fact that Merrick was only found guilty on two offences and that any trial relating to those matters would only have lasted about four days as opposed to the four weeks, which was actually spent hearing his case.

Miss Drake estimated that the defence costs for four days would have been about £5,000 while the prosecution estimate for a similar trail was put at £3,000.

Judge Gullick said he believed the prosecution estimate was on the low side and decided to make Merrick pay a further £4,000 instead.

Mayor held in child porn inquiry

An elected mayor has been arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children.

Conservative Chris Morgan, the mayor of North Tyneside Council, was answering bail in connection with an unrelated allegation that he indecently assaulted a teenager when he was re-arrested.

The 33-year-old has continued in his council role since he was first arrested last month.

A Northumbria Police spokesman said: "A 33-year-old Whitley Bay man, previously arrested on March 5 on suspicion of indecent assault, has been re-arrested on suspicion of possessing indecent images of children.

"The images do not relate to the complainant in the original element of the investigation."

Mr Morgan won the election to become mayor of North Tyneside last year. The council is in the constituency of former Transport Secretary Stephen Byers.

Mr Morgan was born in Wallsend and has lived most of his life in the borough.

He was educated locally and after studying at the University of Wales became a chartered accountant.

He was a local councillor for St Mary's ward since 1996 and he served as a finance spokesman on the council before the mayoral election.

    Child porn ex-councillor jailed
The former chairman of a Lincolnshire parish council who downloaded and distributed child pornography has been jailed for three months.

Christopher Duckworth, 64, of Bingham Court, Long Sutton, admitted five charges of distributing indecent images of children, at Lincoln Crown Court.

He also admitted making an indecent image of a child and two charges of possessing indecent images of children.

Duckworth has resigned from his post as chairman of Long Sutton Parish Council.

    'Perverse pleasure'

In sentencing, Judge John Milmo rejected a plea from the defence that the 64-year-old's sentence should be suspended.

He told Duckworth, he must have known that children had been corrupted for his perverse pleasure.

David Matthew, prosecuting, said the defendant accessed adult porn chat rooms hiding his identity by claiming to be a 22-year-old bisexual woman.

He then went on to exchange e-mails containing child porn images with people he met.

Duckworth was arrested after an indecent e-mail he sent was found on the computers of men being investigated by police in Cumbria and West Yorkshire.

His home was searched and police found a total of 156 indecent images of children.

Jonathan Bertram, defending, said Duckworth had destroyed his reputation, but had served his country in an exemplary fashion while in the Army and was a hard-working, family man.
