2) Another overtly Communist faculty member - who has now moved to Keele University - is Charlotte Williams, Professor of "Social Justice", whatever the hell that pesudo-discipline is.
She spent her time at Bangor writing about issues of "discrimination" and "equality" while pandering to minorities through community projects, which in reality were Marxist agitation fronts.
She co-edited the 2003 book "At Tolerant Nation- Exploring Ethnic Diversity in Wales" in which the Welsh identity is deconstructed with Frankfurt School flair.

Charlotte has been awarded an OBE in the New Year Honours List 2007 for services to ethnic minority groups and to equal opportunities in Wales. She came to Keele as a Senior Lecturer in Social Work, and Member of The Research Institute for Life Course Studies in January 2006 and was promoted to Professor of Social Justice in 2007. She came to Keele University following 14 years in teaching and research at the University of Wales, Bangor where she held the post of Director of Studies for Social Policy and Social Work. Charlotte is a qualified social worker and came into academic life following a professional career in social and welfare work which has included working in social development in Guyana, South America.

She has worked extensively with public policy organisations in Wales, most latterly serving as Chair of the Welsh Assembly Government Task Group on the Child Poverty Strategy for Wales and is a member of the Communities Directorate Steering Group for the Evaluation of the Communities First Anti-Poverty Strategy. She is a member of the Commission for Racial Equality's (CRE) National Advisory Committee and has held public appointments on the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work (CCETSW) Committees both in Wales and UK wide.

Charlotte (left) is a member of the Editorial Collective of the leading journal Critical Social Policy.

Her main research interest is focussed on race and ethnicity in welfare policy and practice, encompassing issues of governance, equality and responsiveness in public services as well as issues of access, engagement and participation. Her research patch is Wales and she has a theoretical interest in devolution generally.

Charlotte's research is interdisciplinary and incorporates critical race theory, feminism, postcolonial theory and critical perspectives in social policy. It draws on intellectual and methodological themes and approaches developed in these disciplines. As a literary writer, she is particularly interested in the ways in which the lived experiences of individuals are expressed or narrated via gendered and racialised identities and how this shapes their interaction with welfare institutions. Her interest in how particular institutions such as social work, the National Assembly for Wales government and other bodies shape and determine specificities in their constructions of 'the public' (in particular ethnic minorities), forms the dominant theme of her PhD.
